Road and Gravel Biking

Both starting and ending in Steamboat, riders can choose from loops and out-and-back rides of several lengths depending on time and ability. Whether you are out for a leisurely ride or are training for competition, Routt County’s roads and mountain passes offer challenging and scenic experiences.

RCR kindly reminds cyclists to share the road. As you ride through our county, you will pass ranches and mines and may encounter trucks, ranching vehicles, and even cattle, in addition to our local traffic.

A benefit road bike ride for local charities, the Eriksen Tour de Steamboat is a revival of Kent Eriksen’s races in the ’70s. Now riders have the choice of a 110-mile loop or shorter routes.  Any one you choose guarantees you’ll be challenged by the terrain and marveled by the scenery.

A four-day event that takes place in Steamboat over Labor Day weekend, this race grows bigger each year. Sign up your team early or plan to volunteer or spectate.
