SUMMARY:Trail Work Day\, Buffalo Billy's\, Buffalo Pass
DESCRIPTION:*Sign up in advance!! \nWe are heading back out to Buffalo Billy’s\, a several-miles-long section of new trail designed to connect from the bridge on middle Flash of Gold to the top of Grouse. The trail meanders through high alpine meadows and across rocky outcrops that will make for a fun and flowy build. \nVolunteers can find their own way to arrive at the worksite on Saturday morning. We will meet at a campsite on Rocky Flats (9-ish miles from downtown\, 4-ish miles from Dry Lake up the Buff Pass Road) to grab tools and get going at 9:00 AM. Keep an eye out for the RCR Banner! \nThere is a good amount of parking but it’s certainly not unlimited\, so plan ahead and snag someone in your “home unit” to carpool with – or have your family drop you and your bike off to work and ride down at the end of the day. Lastly\, you can pedal up if you’re feeling hardcore! If you drive\, keep in mind that the road is very bumpy and rutted – recommended 4wd and a good amount of clearance. It takes 30 minutes or so to get here from Dry Lake by car \n**ADVANCE SIGNUP REQUIRED**\nhttps://forms.gle/ZPTbSNRb9f2CQYZc7 \nAdditionally\, participants must sign their e-waivers in advance:\nhttps://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/5ec58dfe143bf/web/ \nPlease sign up by the Friday prior (8/21) at 3:00 PM to guarantee that you are receiving updates and communications about the work day and that we have planned space for you! \nWork crews will be divided into small groups under 10 people to ensure proper social distancing. Please BYO everything – water\, snacks\, a face covering\, work gloves\, eye protection\, sunscreen and bug repellent. \nUpdate: We will have sandwiches generously provided by Paramount!

SUMMARY:Tour de Steamboat
DESCRIPTION:The Tour de Steamboat is an annual bicycle event that brings together 1\,200 cyclists for a one-day ride through beautiful Northwest Colorado. We host three different road ride routes—26\, 46\, and 66. We also host 2 gravel routes\, a 100 mile\, and a new 50 Mile route. See our Routes page for more details. There is something for riders of all ages and abilities. We are a non-competitive event\, and participants are encouraged to ride at their own pace and enjoy the majestic scenery in our part of the world! We offer superb aid stations\, support\, and end of the ride barbecue and craft beer garden. \nAll proceeds from the Tour de Steamboat go directly to our beneficiary non-profits. \nThe Tour de Steamboat is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit entity with its entire focus on raising money for local\, Routt County community non-profit organizations. These beneficiary agencies provide staff to plan and market the event\, implement additional fundraising mechanisms\, and assist with event operations. The beneficiaries are also committed to paying it forward. Every year\, the beneficiary non-profits choose other local beneficiary organizations to receive a portion of the event proceeds. Last year\, the Tour de Steamboat beneficiaries granted $5\,000 from the proceeds of the event between four other local organizations: SOROCO Preschool for playground equipment\, The Town of Oak Creek for school-aged children programming and the Steamboat Springs Community Assistance Fund critical incident support service.

SUMMARY:Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado Trail Work Days
DESCRIPTION:Where You’ll Be:\nAbout 30 minutes south of Steamboat Springs\, Stagecoach State Park rests in the Yampa Valley and boasts 1\,641 acres and a 771-acre reservoir on the Yampa River. In addition\, the park adjoins a nearly 1\,000-acre parcel of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land\, providing through-routes to more than 35\,000 acres of the Routt National Forest and the Sarvis Creek Wilderness Area. \nWhat You’ll Do:\nIndividuals and families alike can enjoy this signature Family Camping Project. While children ages 6-11 enjoy fun\, educational activities led by VOC’s Programs Manager and local organization Yampatika\, children ages 12+ will work alongside parents and family members to finish and polish a one-mile section of new trail\, originally cut by machine prior to the project. You’ll dig and move dirt to ensure proper trail structure and drainage; re-seed the area; and spread\, pack\, and install materials to further stabilize the trail and mitigate erosion. \nAll volunteers will enjoy camping in the park and meals from our volunteer Crew Chefs on Saturday and Sunday. Our campsite includes access to volleyball as well as bathrooms\, showers\, and a convenience store in the marina. \nClick here to learn more about the importance of trail maintenance. \nWhy It Matters:\nThe trail you help complete will extend the South Routt trail system and provide access to a sizable area of public lands available offering a variety of recreational opportunities for hikers\, bikers\, backpackers\, equestrians\, hunters\, fishermen\, and wildlife enthusiasts. This project is highly desired by both the local community as well as park visitors\, and the results of your efforts will be greatly appreciated and enjoyed for years to come! \nNeed-to-Know Details: \n\nMinors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older on overnight projects. Minors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older on single-day projects.\nVolunteers are responsible for providing their own camping equipment. VOC will provide meals\, tools\, and work gloves.\nCancellation: Our partners rely on VOC volunteers to accomplish critical stewardship needs\, and our projects often have wait lists. If you need to cancel\, please email outreach@voc.org or call 303-715-1010 ext. 116 as soon as possible so we can free your spot for another volunteer and have a full workforce.\n\n\n\n\nAbout Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC)\nVolunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) is the state’s oldest\, largest\, and leading outdoor stewardship nonprofit organization. Founded in 1984 to motivate and enable people to become active stewards of Colorado’s natural resources\, VOC has engaged nearly 120\,000 people in more than 1\,000 volunteer projects for a donated labor value of $24 million. Through award-winning youth and volunteer programs\, leadership training\, capacity-building programs\, and collaborative efforts with nonprofits and land management agencies\, VOC is an invaluable resource in Colorado\, especially as our outdoor stewardship needs are approaching near-crisis levels. For more information\, visit www.voc.org or call 303-715-1010.
