DESCRIPTION:The Colorado League’s Showdown in the Boat will be back in Steamboat from September 8-10!\n\nThe Showdown in the Boat will host approximately 750 high school student-athletes at Howelsen Hill Friday – Sunday. The cross-country mountain bike races will take place from 8:30am – 5:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. Friday will be a set-up and pre-ride day. SUMMARY:7th Annual 24 Hour Boat Cruise
DESCRIPTION:In 2017 a group of community members created the 24-Hour ‘Boat Cruise fundraising event. The idea came from a desire to affect real change on a local level in a world that was starting to feel more divided than ever. We chose Integrated Community\, CIIC\, as the beneficiary. \nCIIC’S focus on access to Early Childhood Education\, quality healthcare and public safety fit with the event committee’s goals to open our arms to members of our community who are being negatively impacted by current policies\, systemic inequities and language barriers on a local and national level. \nThis year marks our Seventh Boat Cruise. In six short years\, we have raised over 165K towards CIIC’s Early Childhood Education programming\, often doubling funds raised from the prior years’ event. We are making real change possible by supporting this amazing non profit as they work to meet the needs of our entire community. \nOur goal is simple: Raise as much money as we can\, Have fun on bikes\, and Increase awareness in our town for CIIC and the work they are doing. After jumping on their bikes\, riders will head straight up Mile Run on Howelsen Hill for a lung and leg-burning challenge. After all riders cross the finish line at the Overlook\, they will come back down for a quick podium presentation and then join everyone for live music and a beverage. Prizes will be awarded for the top three open category and women\, as well as best costume. Spectating will be highly encouraged and positive banter toward participants on the climb will be celebrated.”

Tech Tuesdays will aim to provide technical support and knowledge to female-identifying mountain bikers. This 3-part series will start from the basics of fixing common trail problems including changing tires\, adjusting brakes\, troubleshooting chains as well as going over common trail etiquette practices and making solid gear choices.  \nTuesday\, July 11th – Tires \nTuesday\, July 25th – Brakes \nTuesday\, August 8th – Chains \nThis series compliments the popular Women’s Skills Clinics put on by Ski & Bike Kare and takes place on the days when these events are not held to fit perfectly into your schedule. Our beginner-friendly series is an excellent way to meet more like-minded bikers and gain confidence on the trail. Feel free to sign up for all three or just one!  \nFood & drinks will be provided. DESCRIPTION:Join RCR for a women’s-focused series where we learn the basics of on-trail bike maintenance! Tech Tuesdays will aim to provide technical support and knowledge to female-identifying mountain bikers. This 3-part series will start from the basics of fixing common trail problems including changing tires\, adjusting brakes\, troubleshooting chains as well as going over common trail etiquette practices and making solid gear choices.  \nTuesday\, July 11th – Tires \nTuesday\, July 25th – Brakes \nTuesday\, August 8th – Chains \nThis series compliments the popular Women’s Skills Clinics put on by Ski & Bike Kare and takes place on the days when these events are not held to fit perfectly into your schedule. DESCRIPTION:*Sign-ups full\, registration closed!* \nIt’s the most wonderful time of the year – trails are all open on Buffalo Pass (from wildlife closures) and it’s time to get them ready to ride! We will be using chainsaws\, hand saws\, and loppers to clear trail corridor of downfall after a heavy-snow winter. Meet at Dry Lake on 6/24 at 8:30 AM. \nVolunteers will use hand tools unless they bring their own chainsaw (with required PPE  – chaps and a hard hat). Please bring/wear pants\, closed-toed shoes\, sunglasses\, earplugs\, rain layers\, and a backpack with plenty of water for the day.
