Routt County has miles of paved county roads popular among local and visiting cyclists alike. Starting and ending in Steamboat Springs, riders can choose from loops and out-and-back rides of several lengths depending on one’s time and ability. Whether you are out for a leisurely ride or are training for competition, Routt County’s roads and mountain passes offer both challenging and scenic experiences.
Routt County Riders reminds cyclists to share the road. Here in Routt County our economy is based on tourism, coal mining and agriculture. As you ride through our county, you will pass ranches and mines and may encounter trucks, ranching vehicles, and even cattle in addition to local traffic.
