Directions:
To get to Rotary Trail, you take 20 Mile Road approximately 5.5 miles west of the James Brown Bridge and then take a left on Cow Creek Road. Drive 1.0 mile on Cow Creek Road and there are two parking areas on the left hand side within 300 yards of each other. The first small parking area is signified by a green gate. We will meet at the larger second parking area which is only 200 feet down the road on the left. If you drive for more than 30 seconds past the first green gate, you have gone too far.
Bring:
Sunscreen
Bug spray
Big ol’ shade hat
Work gloves
Water – a camelback is a great idea
Good boots/shoes to work in and walk in. You may walk a few miles depending on the day.
We do have plenty of tools, but if you have access to any of the following, please bring it with you:
- Rakes – heavy duty steel rake
- Pick Axes
- Pulaskis
- McLeods (if you don’t know what a Pulaski or McLeod is – chances are you don’t have one)
We will be doing trail work throughout the day and ask that you call or email before you come out so that we can most efficiently manage this day. If someone isn’t at the trailhead when you arrive we will attempt to leave a map displaying where we are working on that day.
We plan to have weekend workdays throughout the next month.
