What is Bike to Work all about?
On the final day of the 2003 Colorado Legislative Session, lawmakers passed House Joint Resolution-1061 which permanently designates June as Colorado Bike Month and the fourth Wednesday of June as Colorado Bike to Work Day. The bill also acknowledges and promotes the importance of bicycling in Colorado.
 Bike To Work Week in Steamboat
The City of Steamboat Springs in conjunction with RCR is sponsoring a program of activities for Bike to Work Week (June 21-28). Bike to work week in Steamboat is going to be a like a Bike Festival - we are going to celebrate all aspects of cycling going on in our community.
Bike to Work Week centers around Bike To Work Day on June 25th. On this day we are hosting a breakfast sponsored by Resort Ventures West on the courthouse lawn from 7:00 am - 9:00 am for all Bike To Work participants.
For the grand finale on Saturday, June 28th RCR is hosting Steamboat's second annual Bicycle Cruiser Rally sponsored by Steamboat Ski & Bike Kare. The bicycle rally will start from the courthouse parking lot and wind its way safely through the downtown area ending at the courthouse parking lot. The bike rally is meant to be a fun, family event that encourages bicycle safety.
Promoting Cycling to work (or school) is part of our mandate in making Steamboat a more Bicycle Friendly Community.
